Metro United Way’s 2-1-1 directs people looking for resources to help them face life
challenges, often for the first time, to the appropriate service provider. A trusted and
caring call specialist will listen to the full scope of your issue and connect you
immediately to the right source. This easy to remember phone number saves time and
frustration by eliminating the need to navigate a maze of agencies and help-lines. With
2-1-1 services, there is no longer a wrong number when seeking to find or give help.

Metro United Way’s 2-1-1 has helped over 325,000 people. The 2-1-1 service is available in
nine counties in Kentucky and an additional three counties in Indiana through a partnership
with Indiana 2-1-1. In 2012, our 2-1-1 service had over 60,000 answered calls and on line
searches. Our service to the community continues to grow; this was a 43% increase in calls
and 85% increase in online searches over the previous year.

Recently, Metro United Way's 2-1-1 service celebrated its seventh anniversary. In seven
years of service we have answered 278,690 calls for assistance and there have been 46,310
online searches through the 2-1-1 Community Resource Database.
