volunteer readers, tutors, mentors and advocates!
Why? To help children succeed in school and life!
Americans have spoken and the consensus is out: improving education is a
community responsibility. Today, fewer Americans are likely to earn a diploma
than their parents, a distinction not shared by any other industrialized country.
Sometimes kids just need someone who believes in them. Join Metro United Way and come
together with friends, family, co-workers and neighbors to show the power of Living
United. Volunteer reading, tutoring, or mentoring one hour each week can change the
life of a child. If one million of us do it, it will change America.
Take Action now! For each pledge, we will donate a book in your name
to one of our Early Childhood
Excellence Academy learning centers to help ensure that more children have access
to quality books. There is something for everyone with the passion and commitment to
