It's time for Kindergarten Countdown 2010!

Is your child starting kindergarten in the 2010-2011 school year? You won't want to miss Kindergarten Countdown!

All summer long you and your child can attend fun-filled Kindergarten Countdown events! For kids: it's a great way to get ready and excited to start kindergarten in the fall! For you: have some summer fun with your child while getting you both prepared for a successful kindergarten experience!

You can download the Kindergarten Countdown flyers using the links below, or just keep reading to learn how you can participate and when the events are!

How to Participate in Kindergarten Countdown in Jefferson County:

  1. Get a FREE Kindergarten Countdown T-shirt (along with a FREE BOOK, Look Out Kindergarten, Here I Come!) for your child at any Louisville Free Public Library, starting June 1, 2010. *Child must be present. T-shirts are not available at events.
  2. Your child wears the T-shirt with pride to Kindergarten Countdown events, and...
  3. ... Your child (plus one adult) GETS IN FREE!

How to Participate in Kindergarten Countdown in Oldham and Shelby Counties:

  1. Sign your child up for the library's Summer Reading Program starting June 1, 2010 and get a free Kindergarten Countdown t-shirt (any public library in Jefferson, Shelby or Oldham Counties). *Child must be present. T-shirts are not available at events.
  2. Your child wears the t-shirt with pride to Kindergarten Countdown events, and...
  3. ... Your child gets in to Kindergarten Countdown events FREE! * At some events, adults or other guests are required to pay admission price.

Kindergarten Night at Oldham County Public Library

June 8, 2010, 6:30 p.m.
Enjoy a performance of "City Mouse and Country Mouse" by Rainbow Puppets. FREE for the entire family! Call Metro United Way at (502) 292-5475 to RSVP before June 7.

Kindergarten Night at Shelby County Library

June 10, 5:30 p.m. (show starts at 6:00)
Enjoy a performance by the Blue Apple Players and dinner. FREE for the entire family! Call the Shelby County Library at (502) 633-3803 before June 7 to RSVP.

Enjoy the water park, enroll your child in the Childcare Enrichment Program (CEP) for the upcoming school year, and pay no registration fee! CEP, a partnership between JCPS and the YMCA, offers a safe, enriching environment for children before and after school, as well as during school vacations. All immediate family members get in FREE! Rain date: July 8.
